Roche On Toucher & Rich: Who Do You Want Sox To Face In ALCS?
The Red Sox were just a 69 win team a year ago, but turned things around in a big way this year to reach the ALCS. Boston couldn't sweep Tampa Bay on Monday night, but they battled for the win on Tuesday to take the series in four.
The ALCS is set to start this Saturday, but the Sox will have till Thursday night to find out whether they'll face Oakland or Detroit. How much do these few days of rest before the next series help this Boston team?
"I think it's huge for them," WBZ-TV's Dan Roche told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich on Wednesday morning. "I think it sets up their rotation once again as they go forward here. They've had all the brakes, they had them toward the end of the regular season and now with Detroit and Oakland going that extra game and just having to use bodies and do what they need to do to advance to the ALCS it sets up great for the Red Sox."
Out of the two teams left that the Sox could meet for the ALCS who scares Roche the most?
"Take your pick of either one of these teams, I think they're both real difficult. As we've seen in this first series the Red Sox are a good team. Are they a great team, not yet. So I think it's a pretty good matchup on both sides as we go forward."
