Roche On Toucher & Rich: Red Sox Looking To Sweep Rays Tonight
The Red Sox are down in Tampa Bay and one win away from moving on to the ALCS. Tonight Clay Buchholz takes the mound against Alex Cobb.
WBZ-TV's Dan Roche joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich from Tampa to talk about tonight's game.
The Rays have made some mistakes that helped the Red Sox get ahead in this series. Rays rookie Wil Myers gave up on a David Ortiz fly ball that landed on the warning track and bounced over the fence. That was just one of many flubs for the Rays in Game 1 of the series.
Now facing elimination can the Rays clean it up or will the Red Sox sweep tonight?
There was concern before the start to this series that the Red Sox had too much time off between game, almost a week, and that their bats might need time to get going. Fortunately that hasn't been the case as the Sox have put up 19 runs in two games.
