Roche: How The Bruins Can Win The Stanley Cup In Game 7
BOSTON (CBS) - Coach Claude Julien mixed things up a bit as far as the Bruins routine is concerned as they get ready for arguably the biggest hockey game of their lives.
After Game 4, Julien did not put his team on the ice the day they flew out here to Vancouver. However, this time, he opted for a practice soon after the team landed. Most players liked the idea. The B's did not have a morning skate Wednesday. They will head to the rink and go out and play the game tonight.
Meanwhile, as we gear up for this special night, here's a dream scenario as far as how things could play out for the Bruins:
As soon as they drop the puck, the Bruins need to forecheck and pound away on the Canucks. They got outhit 47-27 here in Game 5. They can't let that happen again. They have to establish a presence.

Next, find a way to score that first goal. I don't care how, whether it be a silly bounce, freak shot, etc., just get a puck or two past Roberto Luongo. That puts all the pressure squarely on the Canucks. Also, the forecheck and physical play can't stop once they score. Let up like they did here in Game 2, and they're toast.
After that, turn the game over to the Vezina and Conn Smythe (MVP of the playoffs) trophy winner, Tim Thomas. At least Thomas should win the award easily based on what he's done so far. So, just let Timmy keep doing what he's done.
Dan Roche talks about the Stanley Cup travel schedule:
So, there you go. How will this Game 7 play out? Who knows? That is the beauty of sports. No matter who shoves their opinion down your throat, take it in stride. It means nothing. Only the good one upstairs knows the answer.
So then, what to do? Simply take it all in. Embrace Game 7 like two-time Stanley Cup winner Mark Recchi said. Soak it all in.
