Roche: Football Is Back At Gillette Stadium
FOXBORO (CBS) - Football is back.
Nice to say those three words, isn't it?
Day One of the post-lockout era got underway Tuesday here in Foxboro. It was almost like the first day of school where everyone, from owners to players to employees to media members, was just happy to see each other.
The day was voluntary for the players and many from Wes Welker to Tom Brady to Patrick Chung showed up.
Wednesday is the "get down to business day" for the team. Bill Belichick will conduct his first team meeting. Players will undergo physicals and conditioning tests. Meetings will be held as players need to get up to speed on playbooks.
Thursday, the first on-field workouts will be held and the public is welcome. Players won't be allowed to put on the pads, but they will be doing everything else.

Meanwhile, we'll have free agent signings and roster shaping and shuffling going on around all of this.
Football is back and it's heaven for all those who had to put up with lawyers and lockouts for the past 8 months.
