Ninkovich: We All Support Tom
BOSTON (CBS) - The Patriots have been in the news lately in case you haven't heard, not that defensive end Rob Ninkovich would know.
"The news? I don't even look at the news," the Super Bowl winner said sarcastically Friday morning on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich.
"I really don't [keep tabs on what's happening]. At this point I'm just trying to control what I can control, and that's my performance for next year. The only way to do that is focus on my training and not get sidetracked by anything else outside of what I can do for myself," Ninkovich said in true Patriots form.
"It's one of those things where it's out of my control and really there's not much I can say on it because I don't have any knowledge of it."
While he hasn't spoken to quarterback Tom Brady, he let it be known Friday morning that he's got his back.
"Tom is a tremendous person. There's nothing more important to him than the game itself. I don't think Tom would ever do anything to jeopardize the integrity of the game. I stand by my quarterback and everyone else should too. When you're really good for a really long time, people want to come after you. We all support Tom, the whole Patriots organization supports Tom, and the Patriot fan base supports Tom."
Ninkovich has a fun ping pong charity event coming up this Monday at Blazing Paddles. For more information visit Ninkopong.org.
