Rob Gronkowski Held Out Of Patriots Practice With Minor Ailment
BOSTON (CBS) -- Rob Gronkowski was one of 13 Patriots players missing from Tuesday's practice on the first day of mandatory minicamp. After a day filled with questions, reporters eventually got their answers: The Patriots are cautiously holding Gronk out of practice as he recovers from a minor ailment.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Gronk reported to minicamp along with the rest of the Patriots roster and the team is taking a "cautious approach with an undisclosed physical ailment that isn't considered a long-range concern."

The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe described the team's approach as "extremely overcautious" and Gronkowski's ailment as "extremely minor in nature." Sources told Howe that it is not the kind of injury that would hold Gronk out of a regular season practice.
The Patriots appear to be paving the way for a similar approach to last preseason, in which Gronk didn't play a single snap. As evidenced by his three-touchdown performance in Week 1 of the 2015 regular season, he probably never needs to play in the preseason again.
