Roach's Sporting Goods Closes After 108 Years In Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - For more than a century, Roach's Sporting Goods has been an oasis for hunters and fishermen in Cambridge.
After 108 years, the store in Porter Square has lost it's lease and is going out of business.
It's been the only place to legally buy a gun in Cambridge for years.
From the moose head to the 111 year-old cash register, walking into Roach's was a step back in time.
The hunting, fishing and camping shop opened in 1904 as a hardware store.
The owners say everything, including an impressive gun collection, must go before the store closes its doors for good at the end of the month.
