RMV Shifting To Later Hours At 6 Branches In September
BOSTON (AP) — The Registry of Motor Vehicles is tweaking business hours at six of its branches across the state.
The six branches have been opening at 8 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. since 2010, but the RMV says they haven't really had much business in the early hour.
So beginning Sept. 9., they'll be returning to a 9 a.m.-5 p.m. schedule four days a week with a late opening and closing on Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The branches affected are Brockton, Lawrence, Milford, Springfield, Taunton and Worcester.
It's the first time the Milford and Taunton offices have been open later on Thursdays.
Registrar Rachel Kaprielian says traffic at the branches continues to be heaviest later in the afternoon, and the moves will allow better staffing to meet customer demand.
