Rich Keefe's Fantasy Brief: Week 2 RB Start 'Em, Sit 'Em
BOSTON (CBS) - Thursday night's game is in the books, as the Ravens handed the Steelers a 26-6 loss.
Running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount of Pittsburgh, as well as Bernard Pierce and Justin Forsett of Baltimore all played, so now the focus shifts to this weekend on who to start and who to sit.
Rich Keefe is here to help you out with that.
Every night of the football season on 98.5 The Sports Hub's The Adam Jones Show, Keefe provides his expert fantasy advice.
On Thursday night, Keefe gives you two running backs he likes this weekend, and two running backs you should leave on your bench.
Start 'Em
Browns RB Terrance West: "He had 100 yards last week, and that was when Ben Tate was playing in that game. Ben Tate is going to be out 2-4 weeks, so it's going to be West and Isaiah Crowell. They are facing the Saints. They are not a good run defense. West is going to get a ton of carries, maybe he gets the touchdowns vultured from him, but he's going to get a bunch of touches."
49ers RB Carlos Hyde: "Frank Gore is still there, and he's going to be the guy, but they're taking on Chicago and they just gave up a million yards on the ground. It's a bad defense. This is a situation where Gore and Hyde could both get double digit touches and both put up decent yards."
Sit 'Em
Chargers RB Ryan Mathews: "He got in the endzone last week. I think he'll end up having a good year, but taking on Seattle -- even though it's in San Diego -- I still don't love it. I think you can do better. Maybe you use him as a flex this week.
Packers RB Eddie Lacy: "We'll see if he even plays, it'll be an obvious sit if he doesn't. But he had a concussion last week and they're trying to get him to play. I think he's questionable. I don't like him. It's a tough matchup anyways against the Jets. He may be limited, or may not even play, so you should definitely have a replacement ready there."
