RI Pair Held In Connection With Fall River Murder
FALL RIVER (AP) - Two men have been ordered held without bail on weapons charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a Rhode Island man in Fall River.
The Bristol District Attorney's office says 31-year-old Edwards Platts, of Middletown, R.I., was shot in the head on Thursday night while sitting in a car outside the Father Diaferio Village housing development.
Two Fall River men, 28-year-old Charles Mendez and 29-year-old Tacoma Massie, were arraigned Friday in Fall River District Court and ordered held until a dangerousness hearing on Tuesday.
The men were arrested shortly after the shooting. Both were charged with carrying an illegal firearm.
The DA's office said the homicide investigation remains "very active."
