Rhode Island Man Sentenced To 7 Years In Cocaine Mailing Scheme
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Providence man has been sentenced to seven years in prison as part of a federal investigation into cocaine shipments sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Jamal Boleman was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Providence on charges including a conspiracy drug charge.
Three other Providence men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms on similar charges since September.
Prosecutors say the shipments came from Puerto Rico and California.
U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha says distributing narcotics through the mail a dangerous problem, and his office is working aggressively with the postal service to stop it.
