No Bail For Revere Man Charged In Reading Murder
READING (CBS) - A Revere man was ordered held without bail Monday in the shooting death of a former high school hockey star in Reading.
25-year-old John Burke covered his face during his arraignment in Woburn District Court on charges of first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm in the death of 22-year-old Joseph Ronan.

Prosecutors say Burke went to Ronan's home on Aug. 15 to buy two Percocet pills and ended up shooting Ronan several times.
Burke's attorney Tim Flaherty said Monday there is no solid evidence to place his client at the scene at the time of the murder.
Burke is due back in court September 23 for a probable cause hearing.
Ronan was a former hockey captain at Reading High School.
He was about to begin training as a U.S. Marine in a just few weeks.

His family was in the courtroom for the arraignment, but had no comment for reporters.
