Restaurant Owner Fires Back At Customer's Negative Yelp Review
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- It's been said that the customer is always right. But one Manchester, New Hampshire restaurant owner made an exception to the rule after a patron wrote a negative rant online.
A woman named Joyce Denham gave KC's Rib Shack Barbecue only one star on Yelp, claiming that the owner "rudely" told her party of 20 to quiet down while they were seated at the bar area and singing along with the radio.
"When we confronted the owner about him being rude he said he didn't care. . . We will NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!!!," Denham wrote.
But owner Kevin Cornish sees it differently.
He wrote an open letter on Facebook, calling Denham an "obnoxious self entitled customer".
He says he had to do something to control the group's "painful" rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody."
"You never want to be the fun police," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "But if it starts to be at the expense of other patrons, that's when we'll tell them to turn it down."
Since the incident earlier this month, Cornish says business has been booming.
"It's all been positive," he said.
