WASHINGTON (AP) --  Republicans want the issue of extending Bush-era tax cuts decided now.

In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address (10-16-10) , Indiana Rep. Mike Pence urges House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California to call Congress back into session to take an immediate vote on whether to extend Bush-era tax cuts.

Pence says "the prosperity of the American people is more important than the political fortunes of any politician or any political party."

Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have said the tax issue will be taken up after the election.
Pence says that if Congress doesn't act "every American will see a tax increase in less than 100 days," Pence also says small business owners will face higher taxes on income, capital gains and inheritance. He says "raising taxes on job creators won't create jobs."
