Reports: Patriots To Work Out WR Nu'Keese Richardson
BOSTON (CBS) -- The New England Patriots are trying out another wide receiver this weekend.
Former Tennesse receiver Nu'Keese Richardson will be in town for a workout over the weekend according to multiple reports. The 5-10, 165-pound Richardson was a highly-touted recruit out of Pahokee, Florida after winning three straight state titles, but his Volunteers career was cut short due to a run-in with the law.
Richardson had just six catches for 58 yards before being kicked off the team during his freshman season for taking part in an attempted armed robbery. He was also arrested in 2011 for failing to appear in court after being cited for driving without a license.
Richardson went on to attened Coffeyville Community College in Kansas after leaving Tennessee. He was out of football before attending the University of Pikeville in 2013, catching 39 passes for 588 yards.
A speedster on the field, Richardson had good hands and can return kicks. He worked out in front of NFL scouts in April at Florida Atlantic's pro day.
He's a longshot to make the team, but check out a workout video of his:
The Patriots did pick up a receiver in last week's NFL draft, selecting Jeremy Gallon out of Michigan in the seventh round.
