Report: Video Shows Hernandez With 2012 Double Murder Victims
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS) --- New surveillance footage allegedly shows former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez with two men hours before they were shot to death in the South End.
According to the Hartford Courant, the video is from a Boston nightclub and shows Daniel Abreu, 29, and Safiro Furtado, 28, with Hernandez before the 2 a.m. June 2012 shooting.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis has said investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a fight at Cure nightclub earlier that night.
Abreu and Furtado were killed when someone fired at the BMW they were in near the corner of Herald Street and Shawmut Avenue.
A third person was wounded.
Hernandez has not been charged with the double homicide but authorities have been investigating whether there is a link.
He is currently being held without bail for the murder of Odin Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester on June 17 in North Attleboro.
Police say a car found at Hernandez's uncle's Bristol, Conn. home, matched the description of the one they believe fled the scene after the double shooting in 2012.
Investigators are also looking at a .38-caliber pistol, seized after a June car crash from a car driven by a Bristol woman, in connection with a case involving Hernandez.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, declined to comment to the Courant, on the surveillance tape.
Sources have told WBZ-TV investigators now believe that Lloyd may have had information about Hernandez's alleged role in the double murder.
