Report: Troy Murphy Chooses Celtics Over Heat
BOSTON (CBS) - Troy Murphy has decided to bring his talents to Boston, according to reports.
Murphy, bought out by the Golden State Warriors on Monday, signed with the Celtics to help shore up their bench for a postseason run, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
The 6-11 forward has averaged 11.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game over his nine-year career. Murphy spent four seasons in Indiana before bouncing around in New Jersey and Golden State this season. He has not played since early January after falling out with Nets coach Avery Johnson.

The Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks and Orlando Magic had also expressed interest in Murphy, but ultimately the decision came down to Boston and Miami.
