Report: Timberwolves Enter Ray Allen Sweepstakes
BOSTON (CBS) - It was thought to be down to the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, but it turns out another team has entered the Ray Allen sweepstakes.
Well, at least they are trying to.
ESPN's Ric Bucher is reporting the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in the services of Allen, although it's doubtful he would choose the lowly Wolves over the Heat or Celtics.

Allen met with the Heat Thursday afternoon, and stayed the night in Miami after his meeting with the Clippers on Friday was canceled. The Heat are said to be offering their mini mid-level exception, roughly $3 million annually for three years, while Boston has a two-year, $12 million offer on the table.

In 46 games for Boston last season, Allen averaged 14.2 points per game on 46-percent shooting from the field and a career-high 45-percent from three-point range. His numbers dipped in the playoffs, where he started 10 of the C's 18 contests, averaging just 10.7 points on 40-percent shooting. His percentage from long-range also dropped down to just 30-percent.
