Savard Out Indefinitely After Another Concussion
BOSTON (CBS) - Bruins center Marc Savard is out indefinitely after he suffered another concussion.
"After being examined by the Bruins medical staff today, Marc has been diagnosed with a moderate concussion," General Manager Peter Chiarelli said in a statement on the team's website. "There is no timetable on his return and no further updates at this time."
Savard was injured when he was hit by former teammate Matt Hunwick, now playing for Colorado, in Saturday's game against the Avalanche.
The 33-year-old missed the first 23 games this season due to post-concussion syndrome stemming from a hit at the hands of Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke in March 2010.
The injury was first reported by TSN in Canada.
