Report: Revis Sent Home From Tuesday's Practice For Showing Up Late
BOSTON (CBS) -- If anything has been made clear over the years, it is that Bill Belichick does not like his players to be tardy to practice.
It doesn't matter if their car breaks down or there's a blizzard -- Belichick wants his players at Gillette Stadium at the time he sets. If not, no matter who the player is, they'll be sent home for the day.
Those rules even apply to Darrelle Revis, who was reportedly sent home from practice on Tuesday because of a late arrival.
When asked about his absence from Tuesday's practice session, Revis told reporters to talk with his coach. The Patriots did not comment on the situation, but according to the report, Revis has accepted responsibility for Tuesday's tardiness.
"One source close to Revis said Revis has accepted responsibility for his actions and understands that the team's rules apply to all players," The Boston Globe's Ben Volin reported on Wednesday.
This is nothing new for Belichick, who sent four players home from practice in December 2009 for arriving late during a snowstorm. Last season, linebacker Brandon Spikes was placed on injured reserve three days after arriving late to practice -- also because of a snowstorm -- and had to sit out the Patriots' postseason run.
The moral of the story: Don't be late to anything arranged by Bill Belichick. Even if you're a superstar.
