Report: Redskins To Make Push For Patriots Free Agent Aqib Talib
BOSTON (CBS) - When NFL Free Agency opens on Tuesday at 4 p.m., it was expected the New England Patriots would have plenty of competition for corner Aqib Talib.
One team expected to make a strong push for Talib is the Washington Redskins, according to USA Today.
There is some familiarity between the two sides, as Redskins GM Bruce Allen drafted Talib 20th overall back in 2008 when running the Buccaneers, and current Washington secondary coach Raheem Morris is Talib's former secondary and head coach in Tampa.

There is questions as to how much Washington would be able to pay Talib -- who could get more than $10-million annually -- but they cleared up some space with Monday's release of Deangelo Hall and could make more room with additional cuts on Tuesday.
The Patriots would like to have Talib back after he helped solidify their secondary last season. Acquired at the trade deadline for a fourth-round pick Talib had one interception in six regular season games for New England, and drastically changed what had been a dismal pass defense.
But he suffered an injury that knocked him out of the AFC Championship game, and there are questions surrounding his commitment and work ethic. So the Patriots want Talib back, but at their own price.
With more teams jumping in the mix for 24-year-old corner, it could make him too expensive for the Patriots.
