Report: Red Sox Interested In 1B Adam LaRoche
BOSTON (CBS) - First baseman Adam LaRoche is expected to reject his $13.3 million qualifying offer from the Washington Nationals in the near future, making him a free agent.
When that happens, the Boston Red Sox will be in the mix to sign the 33-year-old to man their vacant spot at first.
According to Fox Sports' John Morosi, the Red Sox, Texas Rangers and Nationals are all expected to make a run for LaRoche, according to Major League sources.

LaRoche, who hit a career-high 33 home runs and drove in 100 runs for Washington last season, is expected to command a multi-year contract.
LaRoche played six games for Boston in 2009 following a trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was then traded by Boston to the Atlanta Braves for first baseman Casey Kotchman just a few days later.
