Reports: Red Sox Working On Crawford Blockbuster?
BOSTON (CBS) - Carl Crawford has played in just two games this season -- smacking four hits and swiping three bases -- but according to Fox Sports the Red Sox are gauging interest in the left fielder around baseball.
Ken Rosenthal, citing Major League sources, is reporting the Red Sox contacted both the Marlins and Dodgers about a potential blockbuster deal for Crawford, although another source denied any contact with the Dodgers took place.
Red Sox GM Ben Cherington has also denied any contact with other teams in regards to Crawford.

"There's nothing going on with Carl," he told Rosenthal in the column. "He's our left fielder and we're glad to have him back in our lineup."
Shortly after Rosenthal's report, USA Today reported the Marlins approached the Red Sox about a blockbuster deal that would send short stop Hanley Ramirez and closer Heath Bell to Boston in exchange for Crawford and a prospect.
Rosenthal says a trade of Crawford does not appear to be close, but the Red Sox could try to move him and the rest of his seven-year, $142 million deal in the offseason.
