Shane Victorino Signs 3-Year Deal With Red Sox
BOSTON (CBS) - WBZ-TV's Dan Roche reports that the Red Sox have agreed to terms with outfielder Shane Victorino on a three-year, $39 million contract.
Victorino made $9.5 million last season, when he was traded from the Phillies to the Dodgers at the trade deadline. Between Philly and L.A., Victorino hit .255 with a .704 OPS. Both of those numbers are significantly lower than his career averages of .275 and .770, respectively.
However, from 2008-11, Victorino batted .281 with 15 homers and 63 RBIs per season to go with a .348 OBP and .800 OPS. He twice led the league in triples, won three Gold Gloves and was named to two All-Star teams in that period as well.
