Peyton Manning Chooses Broncos
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Peyton Manning free-agent bonanza is over, and the winner is Denver.
Manning will sign with the Denver Broncos, CBS 4 in Denver has confirmed.
No contract details are known yet, but it is believed to be in the neighborhood of five years and $90 million.
The Broncos were considered by most sources to be one of three "finalists" to land Manning's services, with Tennessee and San Francisco, after he had previously passed on Miami, Seattle and Arizona.
Manning, who turns 36 on March 24 and is on the mend from several neck surgeries in the past year or so, has thrown 399 touchdown passes in his 14-year career, all with the Indianapolis Colts. He sat out all of 2011, but he completed a league-leading 450 passes in 2010 for 4,700 yards and 33 touchdowns.
The addition of Manning brings into question the future of Tim Tebow in Denver, with some reports indicating the team will try to trade him before the season.
The Broncos will visit the Patriots this season, though the exact date and schedule has yet to be released.
