Report: Patriots Likely To Franchise Welker
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots will likely place the franchise tag on receiver Wes Welker, according to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The team and Welker's agent have been talking about a new deal for the Pro Bowl receiver, but if the sides cannot agree on an extension, New England plans to use the franchise tag says Schefter, according to a league source.
