Report: Patriots Interested In FA Elvis Dumervil
BOSTON (CBS) - A paperwork issue before the weekend led to Elvis Dumervil hitting the free agent market.
So it should come as no surprise that teams are lining up for the pass-rusher's services -- including the New England Patriots.
While it's believed Dumervil wants to return to the Broncos, the Patriots, Ravens, Steelers and Titans are all reportedly interested in the 29-year-old that has wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks in Denver.

Dumervil has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Broncos, recording 63.5 sacks and 16 forced fumbles. Over the last three seasons, Dumervil has racked up 37.5 sacks.
The Broncos were forced to cut Dumervil on Friday after the two sides tried to renegotiate his contract, but a paperwork issue held the deal from being finalized. Denver executive John Elway said the team did not receive a fax from Dumervil in time to adjust his contract for next season. So rather than having to pay Dumervil the $12 million base salary he was set to receiver for 2013, the team chose to release him.
The Broncos and Dumervil blamed the player's agent, Marty Magid, who blamed the Broncos for changing terms of the deal close to the deadline. Dumervil has since fired Magid and hired Tom Condon and Ben Dogra.

The four-time Pro Bowler would certainly help the Patriots pass-rush, but chances are the Patriots won't dish out the money Dumervil is expected to land.
The Patriots have also shown interest in pass-rushers Dwight Freeney and John Abraham this off-season, and both would be much cheaper options than Dumervil.
