Report: Patriots Hernandez Expected To Miss 'A Few Weeks'
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots will have to live life without Aaron Hernandez for the time being, but the outlook on the injured tight end may not be as bad as initially thought.
Hernandez, who limped off the field during Sunday's 20-18 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, is expected to miss "a few weeks" with his injured right ankle, according to ESPN.com.
The third-year tight end suffered the injury in the first quarter while blocking for receiver Julian Edelman, who rolled up on Hernandez' right ankle upon being tackled. Hernandez had to be helped off the field, and was seen in a walking boot and on crutches following the loss.
Leftover Thoughts: No Need To Panic In New England
While it was originally believed to be a high ankle sprain, which normally requires 4-6 weeks to recover from, reports say it is not as severe. Hernandez was still undergoing tests on Monday, and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick did not have an update when addressing the media.
According to ESPN's source, Hernandez won't likely return until October at the earliest.

The Patriots offense missed Hernandez on Sunday, looking lost for much of the first half and third quarter against Arizona.
Hernandez had six catches for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Patriot's season opening win over the Titans last week.
