Agent: TE Hoomanawanui Signs With Patriots
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots have added yet another tight end to their roster.
According his agent, free agent Michael Hoomanawanui has signed with the Patriots.
Hoomanawanui's agent Rick Smith tweeted "Congrats to @Hooman86 for signing onto to the@Patriots 53 Man Roster" at 12:30pm.
Hoomanawanui spent his first two seasons in the NFL with the Saint Louis Rams, where he tallied 20 receptions for 229 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games.
Last season, Hoomanawanui was paired with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and is the third Rams transfer on offense -- joining receivers Brandon Lloyd and Greg Salas.

The move would give New England a little more depth at the tight end position, with Visanthe Shiancoe landing on the short-term IR this afternoon. Hoomanawanui joins Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and Daniel Fells in the Patriots tight end corps. The team also claimed injured tight end Jake Ballard earlier this season.
