Report: Nets Inquire About Kevin Garnett
BOSTON (CBS) - The Brooklyn Nets have inquired about the availability of Celtics veteran Kevin Garnett, but have yet to hear back from Boston according to the New York Daily News.
Though Garnett refused to waive his no-trade clause last season, Nets general manager Billy King gave the Celtics a call to see if the 37-year-old Garnett would change his mind following Doc Rivers' departure for Los Angeles.
The 37-year-old Garnett averaged 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds last season, and has two years and $24.4 million remaining on a three-year contract he signed last summer.

The Daily News did not talk about what the Nets could send Boston's way in return for Garnett, but is reporting that Brooklyn is trying to trade guard MarShon Brooks. They also own the 22nd overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

While it's likely both Garnett and forward Paul Pierce's days in green are numbered, there were also reports that the team could keep the two veterans if GM Danny Ainge cannot find the compensation he wants.
