Report: Mass. Pay Raises Lag Behind National Average
BOSTON (CBS) - Despite outperforming much of the country in economic growth, Massachusetts employers seem slow to reward employees with salary increases, according to a new report.
The Associated Industries of Massachusetts' annual AIM Human Resource Practices Report shows companies in the Bay State are planning smaller employee raises in 2012 than the rest of the country.
The average raise in Mass. is expected to be 2.8 percent, compared to 3 percent nationwide.
Growing health insurance costs were cited as a primary concern.
Massachusetts' unemployment rate was at 7 percent last month, compared to 8.5 percent nationally.
