Just don't ask exactly when stores are going to open.
The Boston Globe reports that retailers are now pulling back from plans to open at midnight after Thanksgiving, thanks to Massachusetts old Blue Laws, which prohibit many stores from selling on Thanksgiving and from having people work that day.
As a result, Macy's now plans to open at 12:30 a.m. on Black Friday, Target is opening at 1 a.m. and Wal-Mart will stay closed until 4 a.m.
It's unknown what other chains, like Best Buy and Toys-R-Us, will do after advertising midnight openings.
