Report: Mary Kennedy's Body Moved At Cape Cemetery At RFK Jr.'s Request
BOSTON (CBS) - The body of Mary Richardson Kennedy was reportedly exhumed and moved 700 feet to a new plot at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville last week.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was estranged from Mary before she took her own life in May, requested that Mary's plot be moved, according to the New York Daily News.
Mary Kennedy had been buried near Eunice Kennedy and Sargent Shriver, but is now buried alone on a hill on the other side of the cemetery, gravedigger Frank Maki told the paper.
Mary Kennedy's family told the paper that they were unaware her body was moved.
The two families fought in court over custody of the body.
In the end, Kennedy prevailed, and his estranged wife was buried on the Cape.
