Report: Manning Meeting With Broncos
BOSTON (CBS) -- Tebow Time could become Manning Mania in Denver.
Free agent Peyton Manning will meet with the Denver Broncos on Friday night, according to The Denver Post, which cites two NFL sources.
Manning, who turns 36 this month and has undergone multiple neck surgeries in the past year, was released by the Colts this week, thereby immediately making him the biggest free agent in NFL history. He's likely to have as many as 15 interested suitors, but Denver is a particularly newsworthy one due to its quarterback situation last season.
Felger & Mazz: Would Manning Work In Denver?
Tim Tebow became a national phenomenon with his thrilling comebacks and incredible fourth quarters, despite the ever-present doubters who critiqued his throwing style and ability to play in the NFL. Despite the concerns, he won seven of his first eight starts, leading the Broncos to the playoffs, where they lost to the Patriots.
If the Broncos were to sign Manning, they could either move Tebow to the backup role or try to trade him while his value is still high.
