Report: Horton's Agent Tells Bruins He'll Explore Free Agency
BOSTON (CBS) – It looks like Nathan Horton will not be coming back to play with the Boston Bruins in 2014, according to a report by TSN in Canada.
Horton, who becomes a free agent on July 5, has reportedly informed the Bruins through his agent that he plans to pursue free agency.
"Nathan has told BOS he wants to explore free agency. It's not a financial issue, just a decision to move on," Horton's agent Paul Krepelka reportedly told TSN's Bob McKenzie.
CSNNE.com reported on Wednesday that Horton is looking for a five to six-year deal worth up to $6-million per season — a figure he should be able to get on the open market.
In his three seasons in Boston, the 28-year-old Horton has 56 goals and 51 assists in 169 regular season games, with 15 goals and 21 assists in 43 playoff games.
