Report: Heat, Clippers Front-Runners For Ray Allen
BOSTON (CBS) - There are many suitors for Celtics' free agent shooting guard Ray Allen, but according to a report, the Miami Heat and LA Clippers are ahead of the pack to land the three-point king if he doesn't return to Boston.
ESPNNewYork.com's Jared Zwerling is reporting a source close to Allen's situation told him the Heat and Clippers are an attractive destination for the 36-year-old Allen due to the fact they could offer him more than the veteran minimum of $1.4 million.

While Allen would prefer to stay in Boston, he would have to take a back-up role behind Avery Bradley. He would have to do the same in Miami, taking a seat behind Dwayne Wade, but Los Angeles could offer him a starting job and the most money of the three teams.
The Clippers were one of the teams rumored to be interested in Allen at the trade deadline this season.
