Report: Governor Admits He Got 'Quite Drunk' After Bombing Suspect's Capture

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick had a little too much wine the night after Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured, he reportedly told a Cambridge marketing firm this week.

The governor admitted to employees at HubSpot during a question and answer session that he ended up "quite drunk" at dinner that night, according to the Boston Herald.

The governor reportedly went out to dinner at West Stockbridge bistro Rouge, alone with a book in hand.

"I sat in the corner and Maggie, who runs the (restaurant), asked, 'Do you want to be near people or away from people?' I said, 'As far away as I can.'" the Herald quoted the governor as saying.

"She starts bringing me things to drink as a celebration. And by the end of the meal, I was actually quite drunk, by myself."

The restaurant's co-owner Maggie Merelle reportedly told the Herald that Patrick had a couple of glasses of wine, but did not appear drunk.

She also confirmed that Patrick didn't have any money on him so he asked and was allowed to settle his tab the next day.
