Report: Diamondbacks Emerge As Front-Runners For Jake Peavy
BOSTON (CBS) - Jake Peavy was scratched from his Tuesday night start for the Chicago White Sox, making it more than likely the veteran right-hander will be dealt before Wednesday afternoon's trade deadline.
While it was believed the Boston Red Sox were the favorites to land Peavy, that has changed a bit as of Tuesday afternoon. According to a Tweet by ESPNBoston's Gordon Edes, the Arizona Diamondbacks are now the front-runners to land the starting pitcher.

Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers has a long relationship with Peavy, as he was the man who drafted the pitcher back in 1999 while with the San Diego Padres.
Peavy is 8-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 13 starts this season. He has won each of his last two starts after returning from a rib injury that landed him on the disabled list.
