Report Details New Revelations About Aaron Hernandez's Alleged Drug Use, Life Of Violence
BOSTON (CBS) ---- Rolling Stone magazine is posting highlights of an upcoming story that outlines an alleged life of designer drug abuse, cover ups and how close Aaron Hernandez came from being cut by the Patriots.
It's a disturbing picture of Hernandez before his stunning arrest earlier this year.
The article makes several allegations; writing that Hernandez was a heavy user of Angel Dust, and had become so paranoid over the last year that he carried a gun wherever he went.
Hernandez has been charged in the June shooting death of Odin Lloyd.
In a preview of the article called "The Gangster in the Huddle," the magazine also reports Hernandez had so infuriated his head coach Bill Belichick with missed practices and "thug-life stunts," that he was one misstep from being cut.
But his troubles go back to his college days in Florida, according to the magazine.
Rolling Stone is reporting his coach may have helped cover up failed drug tests, along with two violent incidents -- an assault and a drive-by shootout outside a local bar.
In the meantime, as these new revelations surface, Hernandez is battling his old team for money.
The player's union is asking the Patriots to pay up some $82,000 saying the former tight end is owed the money for taking part in off-season workouts.
