Report: Crawford Out A Week, Might Not Be Ready For Opening Day
BOSTON (CBS) -- The encouraging signs of Carl Crawford early in camp took a serious hit on Monday, as the outfielder will be forced to sit out for the next five to seven games, according to The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo. Crawford is suffering from a setback in his recovery from a surgically repaired wrist.
Crawford underwent the surgery in January, and it was believed he'd miss the beginning of the season. However, he arrived in Fort Myers seemingly ahead of schedule, and his prognosis made opening day a reality.
Now, though, Cafardo reports Opening Day is "in jeopardy" for Crawford.
