Report: Clippers Halt Trade Talks For KG, But Celtics 'Eager To Continue Conversation'
BOSTON (CBS) - The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly backing off trade talks with the Celtics for Kevin Garnett, but Boston would still like to see a deal get done according to Yahoo! Sports.
Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the Clippers have halted the talks that would send point guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan to Boston for Garnett. Those talks won't continue unless Los Angeles point guard Chris Paul pushes the team to make the deal.
The Celtics meanwhile are "eager to continue the conversation," but will only move Garnett for a package that includes Bledsoe and Jordan. They will not approach Garnett about waiving his no-trade clause until a deal is in place, but it's believed Garnett would ultimately agree to a deal to Los Angeles.
Should Garnett be dealt, Wojnarowski is reporting the Celtics would also move captain Paul Pierce. He could also be dealt prior to a Garnett trade, with rumors of Pierce being included in a potential deal for Atlanta's Josh Smith.

Celtics president of basketball ops Danny Ainge said Tuesday a trade "looks unlikely" before Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline, and Garnett has hinted he would not waive his no trade clause. But with the deadline just over a day away, we'll see how those emotions play out.
