Report: Chad Ochocinco Reworks Contract, Will Return To Patriots
FOXBORO (CBS) - Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has agreed to redo his contract for the 2012 season and will return to the team this summer, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Ochocinco agreed to lower his base salary from $3 million to $1 million, according to the report.
The 34-year-old had a rough first year with the Patriots, finishing with 15 catches for 276 yards and a touchdown.
Ochocinco joins a large group of wide receivers, including newcomers Anthony Gonzalez, Donte Stallworth and Brandon Lloyd. Deion Branch (one-year deal) and Wes Welker (franchise tag) will be back as well.
