Report: Celtics Sign Veteran PG Leandro Barbosa
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics finally have the veteran point guard they've wanted to back up Rajon Rondo this season.
According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have signed nine-year veteran Leandro Barbosa.
A serviceable guard, Barbosa played for the Indiana Pacers last season, averaging 8.9 points and 1.5 assists over 22 games after being acquired from the Toronto Raptors.

Although he is seen mostly as a shoot-first guard, he will give the Celtics an option to bring the ball up the floor on the second unit, allowing Jason Terry to play the two-guard.
Barbosa began his career with the Phoenix Suns, and spent seven seasons with them before being traded to the Raptors in exchange for Hedu Turkoglu in 2010. He's averaged 12.5 points and 2.4 assists per game over his career.
