Report: Celtics Sign Tacko Fall To Exhibit 10 Contract
BOSTON (CBS) -- One day after the NBA Draft, the Celtics have added an intriguing young prospect.
Tacko Fall, who was considered to be a prime candidate to get drafted in the second round on Thursday night, signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
At 7-foot-6, Fall's height is his most notable feature, as is his 8-foot wingspan. Over his last three seasons at UCF, Fall averaged 11 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 24.9 minutes per game. He blocked five shots and pulled down 18 rebounds in UCF's NCAA Tournament win over VCU, before blocking three shots in UCF's one-point loss to Duke.
The Exhibit 10 contracts are essentially entry-level deals, which allow players to keep their signing bonus if they accept an assignment to the G League. As such, Fall may be seen by the Celtics as a longer-term piece, though Exhibit 10 contracts don't exclude players from making NBA rosters.
