Report: Celtics Interested In Magic SG J.J. Redick
BOSTON (CBS) - According to ESPN's Mark Stein, the Boston Celtics have ramped up their interest in Orlando sharp-shooter J.J. Redick.
Even though the team already has a plethora of guards, making a move for Redick would make sense. The Celtics are still looking for someone to step up and take Ray Allen's spot on the perimeter, and currently rank 27th in the NBA in three-point percentage -- shooting a dismal 34-percent from downtown.
Boston had another abysmal shooting night from long-range in Thursday's 89-86 loss to the New York Knicks, going just 3-for-18. During their current five-game skid, the Celtics are shooting just 26-percent (21-for-82) from beyond the arc.

Boston was hoping 14-year veteran Jason Terry would ease the loss of Allen and spread the floor, but he is shooting just 35-percent from downtown. It's his lowest three-point percentage in nine years, and third-lowest of his career.
Redick is in the final year of his contract, and it's not clear what the Magic would want in return for his services. While the Celtics have a much greater need for a big man, getting a player that can actually hit the deep shot and spread the floor would greatly benefit the team.
