Report: Celtics Expected To Get Center Ryan Hollins
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics are expected to land center Ryan Hollins barring any unexpected snags in negotiations, according to CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely.
The seven-footer was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, and is expected to join the Celtics now that he cleared waivers.
To make room for Hollins the Celtics will waive forward Chris Wilcox, who is scheduled to undergo heart surgery later this month.
The 27-year-old Hollins has played with Charlotte, Dallas, Minnesota and Cleveland over his six-year career. This season with the Cavs, he averaged 3.7points and 2.3 rebounds in 27 games.

Hollins spent time during the NBA the lockout working out and playing in games with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who team president Danny Ainge said urged him to sign the center over the summer.
"They really liked his game and the way he could play with them," Ainge told CSNNE. "I think he would fit in well with what we do."
Although his rebounding numbers are not impressive for a center, the Celtics will certainly take another big body. In need of some depth in the front court, with only Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass and Greg Stiemsma logging minutes down low as of late, Hollins should help with getting the Celtics bigs some rest.
