Report: Celtics, Clippers Can't Trade Players Until After 2013-14 Season
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers completed their deal for head coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday, and part of that agreement prohibits the two teams from trading players this season.
According to a Tweet by Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, the Celtics and Clippers cannot trade players until after the 2013-14 season.
So it looks like Kevin Garnett won't be joining Rivers in Los Angeles.
Garnett was a part of the original deal between Boston and L.A., but NBA commissioner David Stern said he would not approve a player transaction that involved a coach -- which goes against the league's CBA.

Rivers is set to be introduced by the Clippers on Wednesday. He not only takes over as the team's head coach, but also their Senior VP of Basketball Operations.
