Report: Bruins On Rick Nash's List Of Approved Teams For Trade
BOSTON (CBS) -- The price tag on Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash might be too high for most teams, but the star of this year's trade season is at least open to a trade to Boston.
Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reported that it is believed that Nash, who has a no-movement clause in his contract, would accept a trade to the Bruins, Rangers, Kings, Sharks and Maple Leafs.
Nash, 27, has a contract that runs through 2018 with a $7.8 million cap hit per year.
This season, Nash has 18 goals and 21 assists to go with a minus-22 rating for the Blue Jackets, who have by far the fewest points in the NHL. He has averaged 33 goals and 29 assists per season since the 2003-04 season.
While the Bruins may have a need at forward due to Nathan Horton's uncertain status as he recovers from his second concussion in eight months, the expected cost of Nash is thought to be much more than Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli would be willing to spend.
