Bruins' Lucic Fined $5K For Stick-To-Groin Shot
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic was hit with a $5,000 fine for an incident in Game One of the Bruins Eastern Conference first-round series against the Red Wings, the NHL confirmed on Saturday.
With five seconds remaining in the second period, Lucic swung his stick up between Danny DeKeyser's legs, hitting him hard in the groin area, sending the Detroit D-man to the ice in a heap of pain.

The call was missed by the referees on the ice, but the dozens of high-definition cameras around the rink picked it up.
According to WBZ-TV's Dan Roche, Lucic acknowledged the incident to reporters on Saturday and said it was an action he regrets.
"I've been in the league for seven years now and I think I've only done that three times," Lucic said. "I don't know why I did it but like I said it's one of the heat of the moment things that unfortunately I did. I believe in playing within the rules and for me I definitely won't be heading down that road again."
The NHL says Lucic will not be suspended over the incident. The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Lucic was called out last month for a similar, but less decisive incident involving the Canadiens' Alexei Emelin. Lucic denied any intent on that play.
