Broncos CB Harris Out With Torn ACL
BOSTON (CBS) - Tom Brady and the Patriots offense will not have to worry about one of the Broncos' best defensive backs in Sunday's AFC Championship Game in Denver.
The Broncos have lost their best corner, Chris Harris, to a torn ACL, according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today Sports.
Harris recorded one pass deflection and two tackles on Sunday against the Chargers before leaving in the third quarter of Denver's 24-17 win. After Harris went down, Phillip Rivers and the Chargers offense began picking on corner Quentin Jammer, and scored 17 fourth-quarter points.
The 24-year-old Harris had three interceptions for the Broncos during the regular season to go along with 65 tackles and a career-high 13 pass deflections.
With Harris out, the Broncos will likely rely heavily on Jammer and veteran corner Champ Bailey against the Patriots.
